How much does a pet sitter cost in London?

Short answer: live-in pet sitting in London costs £50 to £65 a night with Paws & Quarters: £50 for cats and small pets, £55 for small dogs up to 15kg and £65 for large dogs over 15kg. Every night is 20% cheaper on stays of 7 nights or more, 30% on 14 or more and 40% on 28 or more, so a month-long stay works out at £30 to £39 a night. Additional pets are £10 a night for a cat and £15 for a dog. Every sit includes a free meet and greet and daily updates.

Each additional cat or small pet is £10 a night and each additional dog £15 a night. Christmas and New Year nights (24 to 31 December) are £15 a night extra. You'll never pay more than a longer stay would cost, and there are no hidden extras.
With more than one pet, the sit is priced at the rate for your largest pet, plus £10 a night for each additional cat or small pet and £15 for each additional dog. If staying a night or two longer would cost less, we charge the lower price, so you're never penalised for a shorter trip. What affects the price
- Overnight or drop-in. Our prices are for live-in sitting: we stay in your home for the whole trip. Drop-in visits of 20 to 30 minutes cost less wherever you book them, but your pet spends most of the day and night alone.
- Size and species. Dogs cost more than cats because they need walks and company through the day, and larger dogs need longer walks.
- Number of pets. With us it's £10 a night for each extra cat and £15 for each extra dog, not a full second rate. This is where home sitting often works out cheaper than boarding, where each pet is charged separately.
- Length of stay. Every night is 20% cheaper from 7 nights, 30% from 14 and 40% from 28.
- Dates. Christmas and New Year usually carry a surcharge across the industry. Ours is £15 a night for nights from 24 to 31 December.

Two honest points. For a single cat, a cattery is usually cheaper on paper, but your cat has to leave home. For homes with more than one pet, live-in sitting is often cheaper overall, because each extra animal is £10 or £15 rather than a full second rate.
