We're Kat and James
The couple behind Paws & Quarters. Kat is from Australia and James is from New Zealand, and every sit is the two of us, living in your home and looking after your pet as if they were our own.
How we got here
We both grew up with cats and dogs at home, so having animals around has always felt normal to us. When we moved to London, we found ourselves pet sitting almost straight away, and we fell in love with it.
It's the best of both worlds. We get to look after pets, which we'd happily do all day, and along the way we've seen corners of London we'd never have found otherwise and met some brilliant people and pets.
Who we are
Kat (Katarina) is from Australia. She's a journalist and a fitness instructor, two jobs that run on reliability and keeping to a schedule, which is exactly what a pet's routine needs.
James is from New Zealand. He's an account manager with 13 years in hospitality management behind him, which means looking after people, their homes and the details that matter to them.
Our work is flexible, so one of us is almost always at home during the day.
What a sit with us looks like
There isn't really a typical day, because every sit follows your pet's routine, not ours. Before you go, we learn how your days usually run: feeding times, walks, medication, where they sleep and the little habits that matter to them.
While you're away, life carries on as usual for your pet. Meals happen on time, walks keep to the routes they know, and we send you photos and updates every day, so you can relax and enjoy your trip.
The pets we look after
Mostly dogs and cats, of every size and temperament. We've looked after anxious dogs, older pets and pets who need daily medication, as well as relaxed, sociable ones who just want company and a good walk.
